Review: Sweet Bobby, My Catfish Nightmare.
My Oh My! I just finished watching Sweet Bobby, My Catfish Nightmare on Netflix and I am SHOOK!!!
DESCRIPTION:
SWEET BOBBY: MY CATFISH NIGHTMARE is a documentary on Netflix about Kirat, a London woman in her early 30s who accepts a friend request on Facebook from Bobby, a prominent member of the small, Kenyan-Punjabi community. Little did she know that one notification would turn her life upside down in the near future. Over the course of 10 years, what starts as a light friendship deepens over time, until it becomes romantic. They start getting serious about their relationship and goes as far as to plan a wedding and imagine a future together. They share dreams of a future together, and exchanging heartfelt "I love you," all after meeting in person just once for a fleeting moment.
As Kirat's excitement builds, so does her anxiety about finally being with Bobby. She imagines the joy of their reunion, but one excuse after another keeps him from coming to London. Kirat grows increasingly frustrated and confused. This emotional turmoil begins to take a toll on her mental health, leading to a downward spiral that affects her professional life as well. Friends and family notice her struggle, but Kirat feels trapped in this dream that’s slowly turning into a nightmare. It isn’t until she confronts the reality of the situation and uncovers the truth behind Bobby’s deception that she can begin to piece her life back together after a decade of heartache and confusion.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT?
YES! If you want to watch something different while chilling on a weekend, then definitely give this a shot. Also it's only about 90 minutes long, so perfect for your attention span. There are some curse words but no nudity or usual triggering genres. Although it gave me some serious trust issues lol. It's a good one time watch. If you enjoy real life, bone chilling true crime, then go for it.
Feel free to comments your thoughts on it!
